Profile “In use” and data not sent

Help · Troubleshooting

A profile is locked to whoever opened it until its data reaches the server. This protects against losing cookies and tabs.

“In use” and “Open: email, computer”

The profile is open by another person or on another of your computers. Ask them to close it. If that computer is off or the app crashed — right-click → Release lock.

“Saving data”

The profile was just closed and its data is being sent to the server. This usually takes a few seconds. Large profiles (with cache and long history) take longer.

Cookies or tabs are missing

Most likely the profile was opened on another computer before the data left the first one (for example, after Release lock). Open the profile on the computer you last worked on and close it — the fresh data will be sent to the server.

Possible errors

Profile data wasn't uploaded: …

Why: The snapshot didn't reach the server (no connection, server error). The lock deliberately stays with this computer so no one opens an old version.

What to do: Check your internet. Launch and close the profile again — the upload will be retried.

Profile data is already being uploaded.

Why: The previous upload is still in progress.

What to do: Wait.

The profile is open for another user, so the snapshot was rejected.

Why: While the data was being sent, the lock was released and another person opened the profile.

What to do: Agree on whose version matters more. Whoever closes the profile last saves the fresh version.

Launch the profile first: its data is uploaded when it stops.

Why: An upload was attempted without the profile open.

What to do: Launch the profile and close it.

The snapshot is larger than 8 GB.

Why: The profile has grown too large (cache, downloads, history).

What to do: Clear the cache and history in the profile's browser and close it again.

Profile “…” was moved to Trash on another device; the latest data is only here. Restore it from Trash, open and close it, and the data will upload to the server.

Why: The profile was deleted while you had it open.

What to do: Trash → Restore, then launch and close the profile.

No access to profile “…”: it was transferred to someone else or your access was revoked. The latest data is only on this computer.

Why: While the profile was open, it was transferred to another account or member, or your team permissions changed.

What to do: Check with the team Owner or an Admin. If the data matters, export the cookies from the running profile while it's still open.

Server is unavailable. Check your internet connection and try again.

Why: No connection to the server.

What to do: Check your internet and VPN.
