Extensions in a profile
Extensions are added to a profile in the Extensions section of its settings. The file is installed once per computer, while the extension's data (a wallet, for example) is stored separately in each profile and travels with it.
Add
- Add from Chrome Web Store — paste a link to the extension's page or its ID.
- Already on this computer — extensions already downloaded for other profiles.
- Your own file — a .crx or .zip, or an unpacked extension folder.
Managing
The checkbox turns the extension on and off, and Remove detaches it from the profile. Labels: from file, MV2, will download on launch, file not on this computer.
In a team
Extensions from your own file won't appear on your colleagues' computers. For team profiles and templates, add extensions from the Chrome Web Store — they download automatically.
Built-in extensions
Every profile has the GetAntik extension (profile name, 2FA codes, tracker, cookies, proxy check) and Virtual camera, see Start page and built-in extensions.
Possible errors
Couldn't find the extension ID. Paste a link to its Chrome Web Store page.
Why: The link doesn't look like an extension page.
What to do: Open the extension in the Chrome Web Store and copy the address from the browser's address bar.
Chrome Web Store didn't return the extension (code N). Check the link.
Why: The extension was removed from the store, isn't available in your region, or the link is wrong.
What to do: Check the link. If the extension is gone from the store, add it as a file.
There's no manifest.json in the archive
Why: The wrong archive or folder was chosen.
What to do: Choose the extension's own .crx/.zip or the folder that contains manifest.json.
The .crx file is corrupted.
Why: The file didn't download completely or is damaged.
What to do: Download the extension again.
The extension is too large.
Why: The extension exceeds the allowed size.
What to do: Use a different version of the extension.
